EVENT NOTES

PAR: 36-36--72 Yards: 7,023
PURSE: $1,085,000
FORMAT: 36-hole scramble; all 20 teams completed 36 holes.
WEATHER: Sunny on Saturday with highs in the upper-60s and winds from the NNW at 10-15
mph. Sunny again on Sunday with highs in the low-70s and afternoon winds from the NW at 10-
15 mph.

Bernhard Langer and his son Jason used a strong Sunday start to win the 2014 PNC Father/Son
Challenge. The duo opened the final round with a run of six birdies and an eagle in the scramble
format and stayed just far enough ahead of both Davis Love III/Dru Love and Vijay Singh/Qass
Singh throughout the back nine. At 14 years of age, Jason Langer became the youngest son ever
to win this event, surpassing his brother Stefan who won in 2005 at age 15. Langer was a late
replacement for his sister Cristine who injured her back just prior to the event.

Bernhard Langer became the third player to win the PNC Father/Son Challenge with two
different siblings, joining Raymond Floyd and Larry Nelson. It was also his third PNC Father/Son
Challenge title. He won with Stefan in both 2005 and 2006. Floyd won the first three events with
his son, Raymond Jr. in 1995, 1996, and 1997. Floyd then won with son Robert in 2000-01.
Nelson won with son Drew in 2004 and 2008 and with son Josh in 2007.

After his team made an eagle at the par-5 No. 3, Shaun O’Meara holed a 7-iron shot from 174
yards at the par-3 4th hole. Team O’Meara would go on to make two more eagles on the day and
finished solo fifth in the event.

Defending champions Stewart and Connor Cink finished T8.

Vijay and Qass Singh have never won the event but their T3 finish marked the fifth time they’ve
been among the top three in the event. The only times they’ve been outside the top three were in
2003 (T4), 2007 (T6), 2008 (11) and 2009 (T9).

Raymond Floyd, Larry Nelson, Hale Irwin and Lee Trevino have now played in all 17 PNC
Father/Son Challenge tournaments.
