An official PGA TOUR Champions Challenge event, the PNC Father/Son Challenge will underscore its commitment to supporting families and the military by hosting a special K9s For Warriors presentation. Title Sponsor PNC will sponsor a service canine for the use of a veteran at the Sunday, Dec. 11 event at approximately 2 p.m. outside of the Patriot Pavilion, a military-exclusive hospitality chalet located on the 18th fairway at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando.
In the United States, about 69% of elementary school children qualify for federal free or reduced lunches. That’s about 16 million children across the country facing daily food insecurity. That’s where Blessings in a Backpack comes in. The non-profit organization provides food-filled backpacks to school children ages K-5 each Friday to take home over the weekend. Thanks to PNC, during the Father/Son Challenge tournament week, volunteers get together to stuff backpacks, which are then delivered to the Callahan Center.
The PNC Father/Son Challenge brings more than just great golf to Central Florida. The tournament impacts the Orlando-area community in ways that affect fans of all generations and genders. Support of programs and events like the Healthy Families Orange Program (HFO), Blessings in a Backpack, the LPGA Girls’ Golf Extravaganza and military appreciation shows the tournament and PNC’s commitment to the Central Florida community.
